All the wonderful attributes of clematis but in shrub form. Semi-deciduous, self-supporting leafy mounds are topped by clusters of pale blue to mauve, fragrant bell-shaped flowers on display in late summer. Fluffy seedheads follow for added attraction in fall.
Plant in the middle of the border or as specimen plants in containers for all to admire. Cut back in spring–will bloom on new wood.
Full-part sun. Height 2-3′. Spread 2-4′. Deer and rabbit tolerant. Needs moist, cool soil. Zones 3-8.
