Shipping Information

At this time we ship plants in the continental US, east of the Rocky Mountains except for FL. For various agricultural reasons we currently do not ship to AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, ID, LA, MT, ND, NM, NV, OR, WA, UT, WY.

Plants are shipped Mondays and Tuesdays so that they will have time to reach their destination as quickly as possible and avoid sitting in a warehouse all weekend. We reserve the right to delay delivery if we feel the weather is not suitable for shipping plants.

We ship via USPS Priority Mail. Your order should arrive in 2-3 days. A flat rate of $15 plus 20% of the order total is charged for shipping. Seeds ship free. If you would like to pick up your order at the nursery, select “Local Pickup” at checkout and in the comments/notes let us know when you would like to pick up.

Occasionally the mail gets delayed and delivery is up to 7 days. If this happens, the plants are typically okay, but will need to be eased into the sunlight slowly to help them adjust. In the unfortunate situation that your package is lost, please let us know via mel@putnamhillnursery.com including pictures, date of arrival, and any other information that will help to resolve the issue. We will either refund you for the plants or replace them if they are available. We cannot cover the cost of the shipping. If you would like the plants replaced, after clarifying that all replacement plants are available, please Paypal mel@putnamhillnursery.com the shipping fee ($15 plus 20% of the plant cost total) and we will get the plants out to you on our next shipping day.

Ordering Information

At checkout you will be prompted to pay through PayPal. PayPal will ask if you want to pay with a credit card or use your PayPal account. You do not have to have a PayPal account to check out.

If you prefer not to use PayPal you can email your order to mel@putnamhillnursery.com or telephone 443-722-2012. When emailing your order include your name, mailing address, telephone number, and when you would like your plants shipped. Please do not include your credit card number in the email. We will call you to take payment over the phone.

It is important that you let us know when you are able to receive your plants. We will ship them as soon as we receive your order unless you tell us otherwise. The plants must be unwrapped as soon as they are received. Do not let unopened boxes sit in the sun, freezing cold or other extreme situations. This will cause unhappy results for all concerned. Please ensure someone will be available to receive them.

Please be aware that plants go through different stages and will not always look picture perfect on the tops. They may have just been cut back (we do this every July with most of our perennials to help them grow better; they love it we promise), they could be dormant, or going through fall leaf drop. Perennials are all about the root so if the roots look good, your plant is good. If you are concerned, take a picture and send it to us via email or call. We will be happy to answer your questions.

The availability of plants fluctuates. We do our best to fulfill your order but sometimes things just happen. Weather, difficulties in propagation, seed failures, unpredictable sales etc all happen at some time or another. We will refund you for any plants that are not available. If the size of a plant that you order is not at its best or is not available we will substitute the same plant at a smaller size if available and refund you the difference.
