Appalachian Mountain Mint

A pollinator paradise! Rounded, dense clusters of tiny white to lavender tubular flowers bloom on sturdy stems surrounded by aromatic green leaves. Foliage has a red tinge in fall. Larval host plant for the gray hairstreak butterfly.

Plant in moist meadow and sun gardens to enjoy the winged wildlife show from mid-summer to fall. Slowly expands to form colonies, so not an aggressive spreader. Excellent soil stabilizer.

Full-part sun. Height 2-3′. Spread 2-4′. Native to the southern Appalachians. Deer and rabbit resistant. Zones 5-8.
