Trumpet Beardtongue
Large snow-white flowers bloom on 2.5-3’ stems from May to July followed by purplish seed pods and pinkish stems. Lovely! Attractive glossy foliage forms a rosette of leaves that tinge purple in the winter. Native to the prairie states of the US, this beardtongue prefers lean, drier soils. Consider growing it mixed in with other penstemons and carex for a serene wildflowery meadow look.
Full sun. Height 3’. Spread 1’. Zones 4-8.
