Loosestrife of Minorca

This rare Mediterranean beauty is extinct in its habitat on the island of Menorca, Spain, but thankfully it’s still available to us in cultivation via seed collection. Oval green leaves have white veins and purplish undersides. Lavender flowers with red-violet throats bloom in early summer along the stems.

An excellent foliage plant that thrives in sunny, rocky conditions. Considered a biennial or short-lived perennial. Will self-seed, so collect some of your own to continue preserving biodiversity.

Full-part sun. Height 12″. Spread 18″. Zones 7-10.
