Iris lazica

Lazistan Iris

An early spring iris that partners well with hellebores blooming at the same time and flourishing in light shade. Lavender blue flowers with delicate markings bloom within the broad upright evergreen leaves. Leaves can be cut back prior to bloom for an all bloom display or allow the flowers to bloom within the foliage. Either way is gorgeous. Who doesn’t love early season flowers???

Very deer and drought tolerant but more tolerant of moist soils than its cousin, Iris unguicularis.

Part sun to light shade. Height and spread 1-2′. Zones 7-10.

Award of Garden Merit.
