Sinonome Toad Lily
Striking violet buds open to reveal elegant creamy white, orchid-like flowers with ruby-purple spotting. These ravishing flowers are long-blooming and add a touch of the exotic to the fall season. The deep green foliage is clean and holds up well even in hot, humid summers.
Sinonome has a vase-shaped habit with medium green leaves. Plant in the shade garden as a border or accent plant or even in containers where the flowers can be appreciated up close. In Japan, Sinonome is valued as a cut-flower because of its long stems. Consistently moist soil is a must.
Full-part shade. Height 2.5-3′. Spread 1-2′. Zones 5-8.
