Newe Ya’ar Culinary Sage
This one lives up to its name–“good plant” (Hebrew, pronounced “noy ya ar”). Developed in Israel as a hybrid of S. officinalis and S. fruticosa, it thrives in hot, humid climates and its lavender-blue flowers bloom all spring.
Leaves are larger, stay green after cooking, and have a milder taste compared to regular sage. A beautiful ornamental–for herb gardens and beyond.
Full sun. Height 3’. Spread 6’. Drought tolerant. Zones 6b-9.
