Evergreen, leathery fronds elegantly stretch out and up on this native fern, which stays robust and glossy year-round. A wonderful companion for woodland wildflowers (dicentra, columbine). Attractive, silvery fiddleheads emerge in spring gradually forming fountain-like clumps.
An excellent evergreen native for any shade or woodland garden. Does particularly well grouped on sloped areas to prevent erosion. Well-drained soil is a must. Fronds lie flat in winter–ideal shelter for birds.
Full-part shade. Height & Spread 1-2′. Deer and rabbit resistant. Native. Zones 3-9.
