Magenta Magic Lobelia
One summer at the nursery, L. cardinalis, L. siphilitica, and L. x gerardii ‘Vedrariensis’, spent the hot, sunny days together on the terrace with the pollinators. Lo and behold, a beautiful magenta-colored lobelia flower was born, with deep purple-green foliage.
Our Putnam Hill introduction has all the best features of lobelia: late-season food source for hummingbirds and butterflies, happy in average to moist soils, and grows well in a variety of garden conditions. Previously offered as Lobelia ‘Ménage á Trois‘.
Full-part sun. Height 18″. Spread 12″. NATIVE. Zones 4-8.
