Steely blue-gray pom-pom flowers bloom happily on tall stalks, waving to those late summer pollinators like air traffic controllers in a busy airport. Found in southeastern US coastal areas, it thrives in moist to wet soils. A short-lived perennial, but will reseed in open soils. Flowers and green straplike leaves pair perfectly with another native fall beauty, Lobelia siphilitica.
