Blue Grama Grass

A more compact, clumping ornamental grass with narrow bluish-gray, grassy leaves that turn golden brown, red, and orange in fall. Unique seedheads are like hovering insects and are good in dried flower arrangements.

Native to prairies, plains, and open woodlands in southern and western US. Plant with this aesthetic in mind and you can’t go wrong. Tolerates drought and a range of soils (except wet). Cut to ground in late winter. Self-seeds.

Full sun. Height 9-24″. Spread 18-24″. Deer resistant. Zones 3-10.
