Anacis (Coreopsis) ‘Big Neil’

Big Neil Coreopsis
A beautiful selection from Sam Bahr, horticulturist at University of Maryland, College Park. Big Neil is a cross between C. verticillata (pollen parent) and C. tripteris (seed parent). Note that the genus is now Anacis rather than Coreopsis. Deep yellow flowers (up to 2″) with brown eyes bloom in abundance throughout the summer.
Flowers stay upright on strong stems that turn dark golden brown in fall, contrasting nicely with tan grasses and really providing lovely fall color. Powdery mildew resistant. Thank you, Sam, for sharing this wonderful coreopsis with us!
Full sun. Height 3.5-5′. Spread 2-4.5′. Native. Zones 3-8.
