Blue Skies Allium

Commonly called mountain garlic, this little beauty has 2″ flowering globes covered with lavender-blue florets bobbing above grass-like green leaves in mid-summer. Blue skies allium will form nice-sized clumps over time–a care-free addition to any sunny spot.

Mass in groups in sunny borders for full effect. Leaves have onion-garlic aroma if crushed, but generally used for ornamental purposes only.

Full-part sun. Height 8-16″. Spread 8-12″. Deer, rabbit, and drought tolerant. Zones 5-9.
