Black Cohosh

A native woodland beauty—long, fluffy pinkish-white spires float about gracefully on dark purple stems. Prized for its large Astilbe-like leaves of dark coppery purple and its late summer to fall bloomtime. This one is truly tall, dark, and handsome.

Grow in moist shade gardens and back of borders where it provides a backdrop for more colorful foliage. Has insect repellant properties.

Full-part shade. Height 3-4’. Spread 2-3’. Zones 3-8. Deer resistant. Slow to establish.
