    EVENT SCHEDULE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2026 - ALL EVENTS ON FRIDAY ARE VIRTUAL! 4-6pm VIRTUAL Happy Hour and Lecture (Ticket Required) 4-4:15pm Opening Remarks with David Culp 4:15pm Lecture - Snowdrops and Snowflakes - a Galanthophile's Tale with Michael Myers. The talk will be an introduction to the genus Galanthus, with an updated look at the species, followed by a brief history of snowdrop collecting and the variation within the genus.     Celebrate the early-spring garden and bulb display on the beautiful March Bank with a day of events. The event gets its name from the du Pont family custom of walking the path from the March Bank to Magnolia Bend at this time of year looking for the first flowers in the garden. Admission includes access to the plant sale of snowdrops, cyclamens, and perennials (Member-exclusive presale, 9:00–10:00 am), the guided Director’s Garden Walk, and guided and self-guided walking tours of the garden. 10:00 am–3:00 pm: Plant Sale of cyclamens, perennials and unusual snowdrops. Members’ preview sale, 9:00–10:00 am. 11:00 am–12:00 pm: “The Wild Garden in Our Time” lecture presented by Rick Darke ($10 cover, registration recommended ) 1:00 pm: Director’s Garden & Estate Walk: Snowdrops and Other Minor Bulbs 1:30–3:00 pm: Library Collection Open House

Over the years our vendors have offered hard-to-find perennials and annuals, unusual exotics and container specialties, decorative garden furniture, urns, statuary, and other architectural treasures. Ticket proceeds from Garden Festival, Ladew’s longest running fundraising event of the year, go directly to the preservation of the 22-acre historic topiary gardens, historic Manor House, the native Butterfly House, the Children’s Environmental Education Program that serves nearly 4,000 children each year, and the array of over 100 events and educational programs offered to the community.
