Tropical-looking, winter-hardy, edible, and a shade plant?? It’s true! Large edible, orchid-like, tangerine and pink buds are ground level and open in late summer. Flower buds and tender shoots are used in cooking.
Welcome addition to a wide variety of garden types–anywhere a tropical-looking plant is desired, but be sure it is a sheltered location, not facing north. Native to Japan and Korea. In Japan there are Myoga festivals.
