Creeping Sedge
A petite sedge that produces blue-green, wide foliage unfolding out of a neat, mounding habit. Creeping sedge spreads slowly but steadily to form a lush, fine-textured garden carpet.
Flower spikes appear in late spring. A terrific edger or groundcover for the shade garden, particularly when grouped en masse. Cut back in late winter. Native to eastern US.
Very similar in appearance to Carex flaccosperma.
Bright shade, but will tolerate sun in moist soils. Height and spread 6-12″. Deer resistant and erosion control. Zones 5-9.
