Early Native Meadow Rue
Lacy, fine-textured, gray-green foliage unfurls in early spring followed by panicles of tiny drooping pale-pistachio-colored flowers that look like tassels in late spring. Male flowers have yellow stamens; female flowers have purplish pistils.
Provides spring color and a soft, natural look to the perennial garden. Especially nice filling in after ephemerals are done. Lacy mounds of foliage are a backdrop to later-blooming perennials. Native to eastern/central US.
Part shade. Height & Spread 1-2′. Deer resistant. Zones 4-7.
4.5″ pot
