Nekan Meadow Salvia

“Nekan,” an abbreviation of Nebraska and Kansas, was found growing wild north of Lincoln, NE. Good thing! It has beautiful dense whorls of sky-blue flowers growing on sturdy stems with downy, greyish-green leaves. Brings pretty late-season color and nectar to the garden.

Nekan will blend beautifully in any formal border garden or in a more wild, prairie-type garden. Cut back after flowering. If desired, cut stems back by half in late spring to promote more compact, tidy growth.

Full sun. Height 2-4′. Spread 2-3′. Deer , drought, and heat tolerant. Zones 4-9.

4″ tall pot
