Gentiana dahurica ‘Nikita’

Dahurian Gentian
Deep purple flowers bloom early to mid-summer over deep green leaves. Plants spread wider than they are tall. Beautiful as an edging plant or mixed with low growing grasses in a meadow setting. This species is one of only a handful that flourish in my mid-Atlantic garden (growing here with Nasella and Seriococarpus.) Plants require good drainage with moist but not wet soils. Once established, long-lived and undemanding. Excellent cut flowers but I personally never want to cut them. They are too beautiful!

Full-part sun. Height 6–12”. Spread 12–15”. Zones 4–7.

2.5″ pot
