Limestone Calamint

An eastern US native that is rarely known in the trade. And what a useful, sweet plant it is!

Planted in free-draining, average to alkaline soils, Limestone Calamint will reward you with slender, airy flower stems and rose-purple flowers June-September over minty-fragrant evergreen leaves.

Growing like thyme, use this plant as a groundcover, edger, or weaver. Looks beautiful spilling out of containers and softens edges in the garden. The leaves can be used to make tea, and the flowers are useful for pollinators.

Limestone Calamint gets its name from growing naturally in limestone bluffs and glades but can also be found in wet meadows and stream gravel bars. Plants are stoloniferous making it a nice little weaver.
