Sweet mounds of heart-shaped, metallic purple leaves grow in spring, which turn softer in summer and are accompanied by lavender-blue snapdragon-like flower spires. Nectar source for butterflies and long-tongued bees.
An undemanding, easy addition to perennial borders, native gardens, and naturalized areas with well-drained soils.
Full-part sun. Height 1-2′. Spread 9″-1.5′. Deer and drought tolerant. NATIVE to eastern US. Zones 4-9.
