Large deep green, furry leaves arrive in early spring topped by spikes of starry-blue, nectar-rich flowers. An outstanding groundcover for deep to part shade that forms a colony of overlapping mounds, keeping out weeds and adding a lush feel to the garden. Considered a delicacy in its native habitat around the Black Sea. It is cooked like spinach.
