A low growing thyme that can take light foot traffic. Suitable for filling between stepping stones and rock crevices. Makes a good edging plant and is pretty spilling out of containers.Full sun. Requires good drainage. If drainage is poor cover growing area with 2-3” of dirty gravel and plant in the gravel. Edible but the leaves are so tiny and low that its culinary uses are limited. Groundcover. Z5-7
The photo here is wooly thyme, Thymus pseudolanuginosus. Thymus minus is even more compact and lower growing (see cat’s paw for reference). Same pretty pink flowers in spring.
