Purple Knockout Lyre-Leaf Sage
Perhaps not the most showy of the salvias especially when it comes to the flowers, but this native’s foliage is a purple knockout! Excellent substitute for the non-native ajuga, lyre-leaf sage spreads by seed through the garden like a groundcover displacing weeds, securing the soil, and reducing the need for mulch.
A very useful, native plant. Plant in full sun to part shade. Height 12” in flower. Foliage height 6-8”. Spread 12”.
