Ingwersen’s Geranium

Hardy geraniums are an excellent, fuss-free groundcover with many useful and attractive attributes. They spread nicely but do not take over the garden, and they have pretty flowers that bloom in early summer. When not in bloom, hardy geraniums complement other showier perennials, trees, and shrubs (i.e., they play nicely). They turn pretty shades of red and orange in the fall and are considered semi-evergreen. Hardy geraniums offer weed control and are deer and rabbit resistant.

Ingwersen’s Variety was found by Walter Ingwersen in the former Yugoslavia in 1929. The fuzzy foliage is highly aromatic and the flowers begin as mauve buds opening into a soft pink shade. Very tolerant of shady, dry sites. Award of Garden Merit.
