Carex testacea ‘Prairie Fire’

Prairie Fire Sedge

Colors of gold, yellow, olive, orange, red, and henna on long thin leaves like gold brushed silk threads.
Beautiful for complimenting the colors of autumn or combining with flowers of similar colors. Alternatively, I’ve paired this sedge with Gentiana ‘True Blue’ to great effect. A combo in the nursery with Ampeleaster carolinianus and Salvia ‘Red Patio’ was quite a knockout.

Leaf color lasts far into the winter so have fun with it! Never underestimate how much back drop colors and texture can make other plants look even more amazing.

Equally great in the garden as in containers.

Full-part sun. Height and spread 1-2′. Deer resistant. Drought and salt tolerant. Native to New Zealand. Zones 7-9.

4″ tall pot
