Blue Wood Sedge

This striking, broad blue-green foliage makes quite a statement in the landscape, capably mixing with the ferns and hostas. It’s a semi-evergreen, tidy grower that forms dense, slowly spreading tufts. Greenish-white flowers appear in spring followed by interesting seedheads.

Excellent groundcover, edging, and accent plant in the shade garden. Thrives in moist soils, but will tolerate drier conditions. Native to southeastern US wet woodlands.

Very similar in appearance to Carex laxiculmis.

Full-part shade. Height and spread 6-12″. Deer resistant and erosion control. Zones 5-8.

4″ tall pot
