Buddleia lindleyana

Weeping Butterfly Bush

Beautiful draping flowers up to 2′ feet in length pour down like a fountain from this unusual butterfly bush. Long-lasting flowers are lavender in bud, royal purple in bloom making an irresistible summer display for the pollinators and hummingbirds. Its shiny green leaves, cinnamon-colored trunk, fast growth, and drought and deer resistance will make you wonder how your garden ever survived without this beauty.

Prune late winter/early spring, but not necessary to cut to the ground. Spreads by runners so give it room to roam.

Full-part sun. Height and width 6′. Drought and deer tolerant. Zones 7b-10, but may be frost tender in exposed sites.
