Salvia greggii ‘Alba’ x involucrata
A new introduction from John Fisher of Australia. This one will catch your eye! Large reddish-purple flowers with deep burgundy calyxes bloom spring to fall, the heaviest bloom occurring when evening temperatures are cool. Attracts hummingbirds, honeybees and other pollinators.
Full to part sun. Height 3-4’. Spread 3-4’. Deer resistant. Compact but benefits from pinching back foliage early in the growing season. Z7? Still in trial for cold hardiness. Worth a try!
