Storm Cloud Eastern Blue Star

Watch in spring as incredibly dark stems emerge from the ground on this North American native. Olive green leaves have silver veins. Star-shaped periwinkle blue flowers appear like blue cloud atop of the wide, mounding, shrub-like habit in late spring to early summer.

Its shrubby look stays fresh all season even in the heat and humidity, so ideal planted in a sunny perennial border as shrub-sub looking terrific next to hibiscus, daisies, and salvias.

Full-part sun. Height and spread 2-3′. Deer resistant. NATIVE. Zones 3-9.
